The user-friendliness of IT often leaves something to be desired in practice. That is why Wikibase made the conscious decision to use the MediaWiki platform: no system is known worldwide and so user-friendly at the same time. In this way, we help companies to effectively streamline information and share knowledge. It is our mission to empower ambitious organizations to achieve more with MediaWiki. Our vision is to enable organizations to do what they want with the MediaWiki platform.
Our team
Because Wikibase focuses entirely on the MediaWiki platform, we are real specialists. Our permanent employees realize the most advanced functionalities with relatively simple means. In addition, we can count on the expertise of the wiki community and the support of carefully selected partners. This way Wikibase can always deliver on its promises.
Ad
For more than twenty years I did everything that has to do with software development. In 2012, this experience brought me to start Wikibase Solutions. I focus on everything needed for our employees to perform at Wikibase Solutions. I guide them and work on the processes and structure of the organization. I like doing the same in cooperation with our customers and with our partners.
Live in Den Hout with Lucienne, our foster daughters, dog Leffe and cat Vlekje. It is wonderful to push each other to great heights with the Tuubke men on bicycles.
Eric-Jan
Due to an interim assignment, I ended up as a business administrator in the software industry in 2014. I never wanted to leave this fascinating sector ever since. The growth of Wikibase requires a lot of attention to recruiting great colleagues with whom to strengthen our team. Furthermore, as a director, I am involved in marketing/sales and finance.
My motto is: Teamwork Makes The Dream Work. Building relevant ambitions for customers who make a difference with our solutions gives me energy. As well as the home base with Mariska and our two daughters. During my career, I have always found time for sport and social commitment. Waking up for a nice glass of wine.
Lucienne
For me the fine task is to ensure that everything that has to do with finances is ultimately administrative! I am also responsible for doing the shopping. This allows our employees to enjoy a nice lunch at the office every day.
I love our (office) dog Leffe. Sparkling People is the best choir ever and I love to sing a note with them! What for Wikibasers may feel like clay with a wiki, I clay with real clay, wonderful to do. Office mother, foster mother, mother ... I am all that and I get a great deal of satisfaction from it.
Viktor
At Wikibase Solutions I work full-time on building wikis for great customers. I have worked on numerous large projects, such as SimpleGov and Broad Horizon.
I started as the first employee of the company. We were still working from Ad's living room at that time. That is now already 10 years ago. In years that went by working for Wikibase, I have enjoyed the growth of the team tremendously.
Did you know...
- After my first week of working for Ad, I told him that the work seems too difficult to me. Fortunately, he managed to convince me to stay.
- I play tennis to ensure that the body can keep up with the mind
- I have lived in Krakow, Poland for half a year and in Aachen, Germany for half a year.
Dennis
Did you know that you can land a career in information technology because of, rather than in spite of, a background in foreign languages and the humanities? It’s the route that I embraced and not just because a computer language also just happens to be a foreign language. As a web developer at Wikibase Solutions, I like to conceive and design functionalities that suit the needs of the customer. From the first informal sparring session to the continued development of the information structure, there’s never a dull moment. I attach great importance to the right design for the right target group: a website must feel like your canvas and illuminate as well as stimulate where necessary. What helps to keep me inspired in this line of work is that we can increasingly explore the limits of what is possible from a solid basis. And I haven’t even talked yet about the excellent colleagues and working atmosphere that make this all possible.

Liselot
Before I started working at Wikibase, I studied aerospace engineering. That is quite different, although I had already gained some programming experience during my studies. At Wikibase, I was initially busy with testing SimpleGov while I was learning wikis. At the moment I am mainly working on maintenance and further development of the Partners and Pröpper Solutions wikis. In addition, I occasionally have some SimpleGov chores to do.
I found Wikibase because I knew Ad and Lucienne from the past due to the fact that I was in the same class as their son. During my studies, I did an internship at a space company in Stuttgart for half a year, but I prefer to be in the Netherlands. I like to walk in the forest where I live nearby. I also spend my free time reading, gaming and baking my own sourdough bread.
Lars
At Wikibase Solutions, I am mainly concerned with creating a JavaScript-based tool for setting up forms. I am also involved in testing the software that others write to produce a flawless end product. I have not had any work experience before, but I have written a lot of school software, this is also the training that I am going to do now.
Jesse
In addition to my job at Wikibase, I study Data Science in Engineering at the TU in Eindhoven. I like to apply the theoretical knowledge that I gain during my studies in practice at Wikibase, by testing projects or helping with the development of projects. At the moment I am mainly concerned with the hosting side of the 'SimpleGov' project.
I also play the bass guitar in the Oosterhout rock band Windup Space and I am on the hockey field of the student hockey club Don Quishoot in Eindhoven every Sunday.
Artemis
I came from sunny Athens to rainy Rotterdam for the first time in 2016. Back then I was fresh out of Architecture school and started working in urban design studios. During my working experience, I developed a strong interest for new technologies, media design and digital ways of publishing. For this reason, I decided to apply for a Master course in the Netherlands and have a switch in my practice. Luckily, while studying Media Design at Piet Zwart Institute, I have the chance to work for Wikibase Solutions. Here I learn a lot about web development and I have already become a Wiki lover!
Marijn
At Wikibase I am mainly concerned with the internal website. I also sometimes do other things such as writing extensions. I am currently in 6VWO at the Koning Willem II College and intend to study computer science at Radboud University.
In my spare time I am busy editing Wikipedia and programming.
I started working at Wikibase in December 2018 after Viktor contacted me about my contributions to Wikipedia. Initially, I still had some doubts, but I am very happy that I finally applied.
Pieter
I work part-time for Wikibase during my Masters in Astronomy in Leiden. For example, during my training, I provide work experience and I get to know practical applications of IT. During my studies, you certainly learn to code, but everything remains very theoretical. Within Wikibase I am given the space to develop and improve myself. I've learned a lot from it!
In my spare time, I am a DJ and artist, I also run my own music label with friends. To cool off from all the hustle and bustle, I like to watch films and practice on the piano.

I have been busy creating and designing websites for quite some time. In addition, I am interested in social issues and applied design. During my HBO Bachelor of Design, I was involved in Fashion Design and 3D Computer Graphics with a lot of interest in Open-Source. After this study, I further developed from Graphic Design to Web Development and am aware of the latest technical developments and design trends. I have a lot of fun developing for the web and am fully satisfied with Wikibase Solutions.
Rob
During my part-time education in IT I encountered a job application for the amazing job of developer with the fun team at Wikibase. Now that was an opportunity too good to pass up! Over the years I’ve gathered a lot of theoretical knowledge concerning the development cycle, mostly from two educations in IT, and I’m looking forward to using that knowledge now. Before this, I’ve spent years working for the best theme park of the Netherlands and I plan on using the experience in customer friendliness I gathered there at Wikibase to ensure the user friendliness of our applications.
Next to my job, I focus mainly on organizing my roleplaying group (which is honestly a lot like herding cats), gaming and sports. Of course, I’m always up for a coffee at a nice coffee place. Anyone for a delicious latte?

I studied Nutrition and Health on the Wageningen Univsersity, something quite different than the ICT.
In my last year I did something completely different than my study and so I looked a little further around me and that is how I ended up in ICT industry.
I joined Wikibase solution through Charlot. I am the project manager. I like being the bridge between the client and the team to make sure the goals, tasks and time line are clear.
I live in Breda and in my spare time I do cycling and baking some delicious cakes: public favourite: Millionaires shortcake.

During my study in IT I ran into a nice job offer of Wikibase and I decided to apply. Before I could even send an application letter I made a connection with Eric-Jan and within a month I started my job at Wikibase.
The team is very open and always willing to help. Next to that the job itself is challenging and there is space to grow within the company. All of this makes it a great place to work at Wikibase!
In my spare time I have a lot of hobbies but mostly I design illustrations and I love to do sports.

Last August I met Ad. He helped me get a spot as an intern at Wikibase Solutions. I got this internship because I’m doing a study called Digital Business Concepts, Commercial Economy and right now I’m in my third year. Because I had a lot of fun at this internship, I’m staying at Wikibase to support them in their online marketing.
I’m very lucky to be able to fulfill my passion by discovering and applying the latest trends and developments within the digital sector. I enjoy finding applications which can add extra value to a company the most.
Leffe
My place in the company is an office / cuddle dog.
I take care of the change and movement because of course I also have to go outside and want attention. I am also there to cheer everyone up. I make sure that nobody is in a bad mood.
In my spare time, I love running laps in the garden and playing with the house cat, my best friend. I also like to play with other dogs and I love a lot of attention.
