Ascend case
Ascend examgroup organizes exams for official certification of, among others, VCA and SOG. These exams are taken at the Ascend office, but also on location abroad. In different languages.
Processes
Registering participants and results, making invoices, participant lists, passes and diplomas is time consuming. Moreover, it is important to have an overview and to keep a grip on the data.
Contracting
To have all information and functionality in one place and to automate processes, Ascend turned to Wikibase. Ascend was already familiar with a system we developed for other trainers and exam agencies.
Scope
Together with Ascend, we looked at the possibilities of streamlining the primary process: from registration by the exam candidate to printing the diploma.
The starting point was the use of our basic modules from the Course Administration Plus system. Supported by a period of weekly video calling, we have come up with smart customization that fits seamlessly Ascend's working method.
Realization
For example, we have made it possible to import exams into the Wikibase system. Including participants, exam locations, attendance lists and other data. The system checks whether these data are already known in the system, creates them if necessary and establishes the correct links between the various data.
In collaboration with Datasol, we made a direct connection between the Wikibase system and the official VRA registration system. In this way, after importing the exam data and the participants, this information can be registered with the VRA at the touch of a button. Exam results are also retrieved with the same ease. Diplomas for successful candidates are automatically generated from this data.
